Saving Best for Last
We are SavingBestforLast.
Why are we called SavingBestforLast? Because we believe animals in shelters are some of the best animals out there, even if they might seem like they are just someone's last choice. We want to get them all saved!
We are all about finding a way to help our local Austin area shelters, and help YOU get the animal you want (while also helping a homeless animal). We want to make the volunteer, donation and adoption process easier so that more animals can be saved. We will assemble all the information you need- from there, you just have to act on it!
We invite you to take a look at our blog, facebook or our twitter account for regular updates on what is going on and any events we hear about. Our youtube account even has videos up showing off some local shelters and adoption events so you can get the feel for the cheer and happiness that comes with giving a homeless pet a family!
Also, check out the photos of animals we've seen on our Imgur!
More than 4 million animals are put down in US shelters every year. At an animal every eight seconds, that is more than 10,800 animals a day.
Adopt now to save a life.
An easy way to help your local shelter is to donate!Even small donations go a long way.
According the the Humane Society of Williamson County, they spend about $200 just to get a single animal ready for adoption. HSWC often has events where they will have extremely cheap adoptions and even have people adopt for free, and it, like many other shelters, is completely funded by donations. So please, help out a local shelter and make a donation. You can even make a donation in the name of a person or a pet. It's easy to do, and you can promote to your friends to get them to donate too!
You can also set up to have your workplace give to a shelter... some businesses will even match donations made by employees to promote philanthropy. Some companies even match donations made by spouses and retired workers. Ask your work about it today to see what you can do!
There are thousands of pets out there looking for homes. Do your part! When the time is right, choose shelters over pet stores and breeders.
